Your Terminal

Terminal AA (MSC Cruises)

Drop-off: Pull up to the covered drop-off area directly in front of the terminal. Porters with luggage carts are waiting curbside — tip $2-3 per bag. This is the world's largest cruise terminal, so signage is excellent.

Parking: Park in Garage AA ($20/day short-term, $35/day for cruises). The garage has 7-foot clearance. You can reserve parking in advance through the MSC website or MSC for Me app. Take the covered walkway directly to check-in.

Check-in tips:

  • Download the MSC for Me app and complete online check-in before arrival — this is the fastest way through
  • MSC's new terminal has one of the fastest embarkation processes in the industry — some cruisers report curb to ship in under 10 minutes
  • The terminal can process 36,000 passengers per day across three ships, so even busy days move quickly
  • Have your passport and booking confirmation ready at the check-in counters

Getting to the Port

From Miami International Airport (MIA)

MIA is about 20 minutes from PortMiami by car, traffic permitting. This is the closest major airport.

Uber/Lyft: $15-25 depending on traffic and surge. Taxi: ~$30 flat rate to port.

From Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL)

FLL is about 35-45 minutes from PortMiami. Sometimes flights to FLL are cheaper, but factor in the longer transfer time.

Uber/Lyft: $35-55 depending on traffic. Shared shuttle services: ~$20-30 per person.

Driving & Port Parking

PortMiami has parking garages at each terminal. The port is on an island — take the Port Boulevard tunnel from I-395 (toll-free) or the MacArthur Causeway from South Beach. Royal Caribbean Terminal A uses the 1,000 Building Garage ($22/day). Carnival Terminal F uses the 2,000 Building Garage ($22/day). Norwegian and MSC terminals have adjacent garages at similar rates. Some smaller terminals have open-air lots at $10-15/day.

$10-22/day depending on terminal and garage (most are $22/day)

Hotel Shuttle Services

Local Tip

MSC Divina departs from Terminal AA, the massive MSC facility that can process up to 36,000 passengers per day across three ships. Garage AA runs $20/day short-term or $35/day for cruise duration — watch the 7-foot clearance if you have a tall vehicle. Download the MSC for Me app and complete online check-in for the fastest boarding experience. For an authentic pre-cruise breakfast, Enriqueta's Sandwich Shop is about 12 minutes away — their Cuban sandwich with croquetas is a local institution.
