Your Terminal
Cruise Terminal 5
Drop-off: Terminal 5 is at the western end of the port. Follow George King Blvd all the way down — CT-5 is well-signed. The drop-off lane runs along the front of the building. Porters are stationed curbside to take your checked luggage. Tip $2-3 per bag.
Parking: Park in the CT-5 lot ($17/day). It's an open-air lot, so try to snag a spot under one of the shade structures if you're there in summer. The walk to the terminal entrance is short — maybe 3 minutes. Save your parking receipt.
Check-in tips:
- Terminal 5 is shared by multiple cruise lines — look for your specific cruise line's signage once inside
- This terminal can handle large ships, so embarkation-day crowds can be bigger. Arriving at your assigned time really matters here
- Have your boarding pass (app or printed) and government-issued photo ID ready for the security checkpoint — it's right inside the main entrance
- Families with strollers: there's a dedicated lane at security. Ask a porter if you don't see it
Getting to the Port
Drive Yourself — Port Parking
Most cruisers drive. Port Canaveral is about 45 minutes from Orlando International Airport (MCO) via the Beachline Expressway (FL-528). On-site parking at the port is $17/day (open-air) with covered garage options at some terminals for $20/day.
Drive Yourself — Off-Site Parking
Off-site lots near the port offer significant savings over on-site parking. Go Port Canaveral (goportcanaveral.com) on SR-401 is the most popular, with rates around $10/day including free shuttle service every 10-15 minutes. Cruise Parking Port Canaveral on SR-528 is another reliable option at $8-10/day. Both offer covered and uncovered options — covered costs a few dollars more per day but is worth it if you're leaving your car for a week in the Florida sun.
Park-and-Cruise Hotel Package
Many hotels near the port bundle a night's stay with parking for the duration of your cruise plus a shuttle to the terminal. You drive in the night before, sleep, then shuttle to the port in the morning while your car stays at the hotel. Radisson Resort at the Port, Country Inn & Suites Cape Canaveral, and Residence Inn Cape Canaveral all offer reliable park-and-cruise packages. Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach is another solid option if you want a beach-adjacent stay.
Shuttle from Orlando Airport (MCO)
Several shuttle companies run scheduled transfers from MCO to Port Canaveral. Shared shuttles cost $25-35 per person; private SUVs run $120-180 for up to 6 passengers.

Local Tip
Norwegian Prima boards at CT-5, where the open-air parking lot runs $17/day. CT-5 handles large ships, so arriving at your assigned boarding time matters more here than at smaller terminals. The security line at CT-5 is airport-style and moves quickly. For last-minute needs, skip the small terminal gift shop and hit the Walgreens on SR-528 about 5 minutes away or the Publix on Astronaut Blvd about 8 minutes out.
