Before you book

How we compare cabins and cruise budgets

You supply the quotes and priorities. Cruise-line references supply the limited cabin facts. The result explains what is known, what is missing and what your entered costs add up to.

Suitability comes before the total

We first check the chosen arrangement against known occupancy, age, connection and accessibility constraints. A known conflict is ineligible. A missing required fact stays unconfirmed. An advertised maximum for a category does not establish the capacity of every room in it.

We rank confirmed eligible arrangements by your ordered priorities only when every candidate has comparable verified facts for those priorities. Otherwise we keep their order and withhold a best-match badge. Complete budget fit and lower complete entered totals break preference ties. The lowest complete eligible total is identified separately. A tie is not a unique winner.

Unknown costs are not free

All amounts are USD for the whole party and all cabins. Quoted and estimated amounts add to the total. You can explicitly mark a cost as included in another line or not needed. A blank line remains unknown, so a partial total never earns an “under budget” claim.

An upgrade difference uses your entered cruise fares. A comparable per-night upgrade also requires the same known ship, departure port, date, nights, mandatory-charge basis and refundability. We remind you to recheck quotes after 24 hours; this is a planning reminder, not a live price check.

Sources and review dates

Our initial Utopia of the Seas and Carnival Mardi Gras references were checked September 7, 2026. Each fact has a source locator and review date. Our review interval is 90 days. A stale source, a different effective plan or an unknown date interval reduces confidence; it does not silently borrow facts from another ship or plan.

We do not yet verify exact room numbers, connecting pairs, noise ratings or accessible-room inventory. Departure schedules do not supply our fares, cabin availability or inferred cruise lengths.

How money reaches us

A disclosed merchant link may earn a commission if you book. Merchant identity and commission never enter the calculation or ranking. The current cruise action opens a departure-port search; you must re-enter and verify your sailing, party and cabin. Your entered quote is not promised at that merchant.

Your shortlist stays under your control

Editing and saving use this browser’s storage. We suppress third-party analytics on the comparison and calculator pages. Minimal first-party events count actions without amounts, ages or room details. Sharing is optional: it creates a read-only copy stored for up to 90 days. Anyone with its link can view it. The creator can delete that shared copy from the original browser; a recipient’s separately saved or printed copy cannot be recalled.

Do not put names, contact details or booking references into a comparison. Clearing browser storage removes the local shortlist and its saved deletion controls.
