Getting to the Port

Uber/Lyft: $20-35 depending on traffic. Taxi: ~$40-50 metered. Shuttle services: $15-25/person.

From JFK International Airport (JFK)

JFK is about 45-60 minutes from Cape Liberty, depending on traffic. You'll cross through Brooklyn or take the Belt Parkway to the Verrazzano Bridge and up through Staten Island, or go through Manhattan and the Holland Tunnel.

Uber/Lyft: $55-80 depending on traffic and route. Taxi: $70-100 metered.

From Penn Station / Manhattan

If you're coming from Midtown Manhattan, take the NJ Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail from Hoboken or drive through the Holland Tunnel to the NJ Turnpike south. The drive is about 30-45 minutes depending on tunnel traffic.

Uber/Lyft from Midtown: $35-55. NJ Transit from Penn Station to Hoboken + Uber: ~$20 total.

Driving & Port Parking

Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 14A, follow Route 440 South, then turn left on Port Terminal Blvd. Continue past the guard gate and follow signs to the terminal. The covered garage sits about 750 feet from the terminal, a two-minute walk, but general parking only gets it off-peak: in peak season the garage is held for guests with a valid visible placard or a wheelchair-symbol plate, and everyone else uses the overflow surface lots with a free three-minute shuttle.

$35/day at the port, taxes and fees included, in the garage or the overflow lots alike. RVs, campers and mini buses are $70/day; full-size buses $105.

Local Tip

Oasis of the Seas docks at Cape Liberty with an earlier boarding time of 11:00 AM, so plan to arrive on the early side. The on-site garage is $35/day, and the garage has a 7-foot-4-inch height restriction, so oversized vehicles use the adjacent open lot at double the rate. Drop luggage curbside with porters before parking, and stop at ShopRite or CVS on Broadway in Bayonne for any last-minute supplies since there are no shops inside the terminal.
