Your Terminal

Cruise Terminal 8 (Disney)

Drop-off: CT-8 is Disney's dedicated terminal — you'll know you're in the right place when the building starts looking magical. Follow port signs to Terminal 8. The drop-off area is well-organized with Disney Cast Members directing traffic. Porters will take your checked luggage and tag it with your stateroom number. Tip $2-3 per bag.

Parking: Park in the CT-8 parking area ($22/day — yes, Disney charges more). The lot is open-air with some covered sections. Disney Cast Members will direct you to available spots. The walk to the terminal is short and there are clear Disney-branded signs guiding you. Save your parking receipt — you'll need it when you return.

Check-in tips:

  • Download the My Disney Cruise Line app and complete online check-in before you arrive — this is mandatory and saves enormous time
  • If you have MagicBand+ wristbands, wear them. They work as your room key, charge card, and ID on the ship
  • Disney's check-in process is more theatrical than other lines — Cast Members make it part of the experience. Enjoy it, but budget an extra 15 minutes
  • Kids get welcome gifts during check-in — they'll be handed activity bags and sometimes character cards. It's a nice touch
  • Your port arrival time is in the app — Disney is strict about arrival windows. Showing up early means waiting outside.

Getting to the Port

Drive Yourself — Port Parking

Most cruisers drive. Port Canaveral is about 45 minutes from Orlando International Airport (MCO) via the Beachline Expressway (FL-528). On-site parking at the port is $17/day (open-air) with covered garage options at some terminals for $20/day.

$17/day open-air, $20/day covered garage + tolls (~$5 from MCO)

Drive Yourself — Off-Site Parking

Off-site lots near the port offer significant savings over on-site parking. Go Port Canaveral (goportcanaveral.com) on SR-401 is the most popular, with rates around $10/day including free shuttle service every 10-15 minutes. Cruise Parking Port Canaveral on SR-528 is another reliable option at $8-10/day. Both offer covered and uncovered options — covered costs a few dollars more per day but is worth it if you're leaving your car for a week in the Florida sun.

$8-12/day (free shuttle to terminal included)

Park-and-Cruise Hotel Package

Many hotels near the port bundle a night's stay with parking for the duration of your cruise plus a shuttle to the terminal. You drive in the night before, sleep, then shuttle to the port in the morning while your car stays at the hotel. Radisson Resort at the Port, Country Inn & Suites Cape Canaveral, and Residence Inn Cape Canaveral all offer reliable park-and-cruise packages. Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach is another solid option if you want a beach-adjacent stay.

$90-150 total (1 night hotel + parking for full cruise + shuttle)

Shuttle from Orlando Airport (MCO)

Several shuttle companies run scheduled transfers from MCO to Port Canaveral. Shared shuttles cost $25-35 per person; private SUVs run $120-180 for up to 6 passengers.

$25-35/person (shared) or $120-180 (private, up to 6)

Local Tip

Disney Wish departs from CT-8, where Disney Cast Members orchestrate everything from parking ($22/day) to curbside luggage handling. Budget an extra 15 minutes for check-in here — Disney makes the process theatrical and part of the experience, especially for kids who get welcome gifts and character cards. If you need anything from a real store, hit the Publix on Astronaut Blvd about 8 minutes away before heading to the terminal.
