Shuttle and package terms are shown as published only where we read them on the hotel’s own page, with the date we read it. Everywhere else the cell says what the hotel advertises, or that nothing is published — a shuttle you cannot confirm is one you should not plan an embarkation morning around.

Pan Pacific Vancouver

Above the terminal; direct elevator to Canada PlacePrice not published

Why: With children and luggage, being in the building beats being near it. The hotel describes itself as located above the Canada Place cruise terminal and lists a direct elevator down to it, and its cruise offer covers complimentary luggage transfer to the cruise ship plus breakfast for two. The outdoor heated saltwater pool and hot tub are open year-round, which is the thing that buys you an afternoon when the ship is not boarding yet.

The one hotel in Vancouver where the terminal is downstairs, with a heated saltwater pool on the roof.

Pro tip: Nothing about the parking here is the hotel's to control, so check it before you drive in. The hotel says self-parking tickets come from the Indigo Parking machines in the garage, that the garage is independently owned and not managed by the hotel, and that lower-level parking is limited to 6 feet 9 inches — enough to stop a minivan with a roof box.

Parking: Self-parking and valet at Canada Place. Tickets for self-parking come from the Indigo machines in the garage, which the hotel says is independently owned and not managed by it, and lower-level parking is limited to 6 feet 9 inches.

Sandman Suites Vancouver - Davie Street

A full kitchen, a washer and dryer and a Denny's downstairs — the practical room for a family.

Downtown; no distance to the terminal publishedFrom C$168 a night

Why: The layouts run from studios to one bedroom and the living rooms have sofa beds, so a family of four is not negotiating over one bathroom and a mini-fridge. The hotel's page attaches a full kitchen, a washer and dryer and a balcony to particular suites rather than to all of them, so pick the room type on that list rather than assuming. There is a pool and a fitness center, and a Denny's on the property for the morning everyone has to eat before bag drop opens at Canada Place.

Pro tip: The laundry is the underrated part, so book a suite that lists one. A wash the night before you sail means you pack for a week rather than for two, and a wash on the way home means the suitcases go back light. Nothing on the hotel's own page, read 2026-08-20, mentions a cruise package or a shuttle, so the ride to the terminal is yours to book. Select rooms are pet-friendly and the property is smoke-free.

Parking: The hotel lists on-site parking among its amenities and publishes no rate for it on that page, read 2026-08-20.

Blue Horizon Hotel

Corner rooms with balconies, an indoor pool, and the one published parking rate in this list.

About 10 blocks to Canada PlacePrice not published

Why: Every guest room is a corner room with a private step-out balcony, many of them facing English Bay, the North Shore mountains or the city, which gives children somewhere to stand and point at things. The hotel has a small indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool and a steam room, and it states its own distance to the ship: Canada Place is approximately 10 blocks away. It is also a departure stop for Capilano Suspension Bridge Park's free downtown shuttle, which capbridge.com puts at about 15 minutes each way — a whole afternoon with children, for the price of park admission and nothing else.

Pro tip: Parking is C$23.95 a day plus taxes, the only rate any hotel in this list publishes, but the height limit is 6 feet 2 inches and a family car with a roof box will not clear it. The hotel says it has no shuttle service and puts a taxi to Canada Place at about C$10.00 one way, which with children and bags is the simplest way to get there. If you take the Capilano shuttle, keep your park admission on you: capbridge.com says proof of admission is required for the return trip.

Parking: Hotel parking is C$23.95 a day plus taxes with a 6 foot 2 inch height limit, per the hotel's own page read 2026-08-20. No cruise parking offer appears on that page.

Fairmont Waterfront

A rooftop pool and a bee garden, plus staff who move your luggage to the ship on departure day.

Steps to the Canada Place terminalPrice not published

Why: The Connect With Your Cruise offer removes the worst twenty minutes of a family embarkation day: the Bell Team transfers your luggage directly from your guestroom to the Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal, so nobody is dragging four cases down a street. Breakfast for two at ARC Restaurant + Bar overlooking Vancouver Harbour comes with it. The heated rooftop pool and the rooftop garden with its bee apiary give children somewhere to be while you wait out the morning.

Pro tip: Fairmont sells the offer for stays from May through October 2026, so confirm it is still on before you plan a morning around it. Because the bags go from the room rather than from your hands, pack passports, medication and anything a child needs on the ship into a bag that stays with you.

Parking: The Connect With Your Cruise page, read 2026-08-20, states no parking terms. Ask the hotel directly before you count on leaving a car while you sail.

Fairmont Vancouver Airport

Rooms sold by the hour inside YVR, for the long gap between the ship and an evening flight.

Inside YVR, not next to the terminalPrice not published

Why: This is the debarkation-day hotel rather than the pre-cruise one, and with children it is the one worth knowing about. Fairmont calls it the only soundproofed luxury hotel located in Vancouver International Airport, so the walk from the check-in hall to a bed is measured in minutes rather than in a taxi ride nobody wants to take twice.

Pro tip: You do not have to buy a whole night. The hotel sells Day Use rooms for up to 8 hours between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific time, which covers a family off the ship at nine in the morning with a flight at seven. Day Use cannot be booked online — the hotel says to call 1-866-540-4441.

Parking: The hotel lists parking as available for an additional fee, in an enclosed outdoor lot, on its own page read 2026-08-20. No rate is given there.

Fairmont Pacific Rim

Rooftop pool, a spa and a walk to Canada Place, Stanley Park and Gastown.

Walking distance to Canada PlacePrice not published

Why: The hotel puts itself within walking distance of Stanley Park, Canada Place and Gastown, which is the useful triangle for the night before an Alaska sailing: the seawall, the ship and dinner, in any order. Its own amenity list names a rooftop pool and fitness center, the Botanist restaurant and the Fairmont Spa. If you are driving up from Bellingham, Seattle or Calgary, its Pacific Northwest + Alberta Residents Offer is the one on this page worth reading: residents of British Columbia, Washington State and Alberta get 15 percent off the best available rate with complimentary self-parking, bookable through April 30, 2027.

Pro tip: No cruise offer appears on the hotel's own page, read 2026-08-20, so the luggage transfer that its sister property sells does not come with this address. If having your bags carried to the ship is what you are booking for, book the Fairmont Waterfront instead and keep this one for the trip where you have time to use the spa. Drive-in readers should check the residents offer before they book anywhere else in the set, because free self-parking the night before you sail is worth more than the discount attached to it.

Parking: The hotel publishes one parking term, and it sits inside the Pacific Northwest + Alberta Residents Offer: residents of British Columbia, Washington State and Alberta get 15 percent off the best available rate with complimentary self-parking, bookable through April 30, 2027.
