Your Terminal

Cruise Terminal 25 (Carnival & Princess)

Drop-off: Address: 2702 Harborside Drive. Follow signs for Terminal 25 — it's the eastern terminal in the downtown port area. Drop luggage curbside with porters (tip $2-3 per bag), then proceed to parking. The terminal is directly across from Terminal 28.

Parking: Multiple options: Express Lot is walking distance ($20/day). Lots A (160 33rd St) and B (224 33rd St) are $12/day with free shuttle. SMP Garage at 25th & Harborside has covered parking for $25/day. Reserve online at portofgalveston.com for best rates.

Check-in tips:

  • Complete your cruise line's online check-in and have your boarding documents ready on your phone or printed
  • Terminal 25 primarily serves Carnival Cruise Line and Princess Cruises
  • The Express Lot is walking distance — great if you have light luggage and want convenience
  • Porters are available curbside for luggage — don't forget to tip $2-3 per bag

Getting to the Port

From George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

Houston's largest airport is about 75 miles from the Port of Galveston. Allow at least 90 minutes for the drive, more during rush hour.

Uber/Lyft: $70-100 depending on traffic. Shared shuttle: $40-50 per person. Private car service: $120-180.

From William P. Hobby Airport (HOU)

Southwest's hub is closer to Galveston — about 45 miles, or 60 minutes drive time without traffic.

Uber/Lyft: $45-70. Shared shuttle: $35-45 per person.

Driving from Houston or Nearby

Galveston is about 50 miles south of downtown Houston via I-45. The drive is easy but traffic varies widely.

Gas for the drive, plus parking at the port ($12-25/day) or hotel cruise package.

Port Parking Options

The port operates several lots at different terminals. Terminal 25/28 have the Express Lot (walking distance), Lots A & B (free shuttle), and SMP Garage. Terminal 10 has North Lot, South Lot, and Pier 14 Lot.

Port lots: $12-25/day depending on location. Premium covered parking available at some lots.

Local Tip

Carnival Dream uses Terminal 25 in the downtown port area. The most budget-friendly parking is Lots A (160 33rd St) and B (224 33rd St) at $12/day with a free shuttle to the terminal. If you want walking distance, the Express Lot is $20/day right next to the terminal. Complete your check-in on the Carnival app before arrival. For a great pre-cruise meal, Willie G's on Pier 21 is about 5 minutes away — request a waterfront table for views of the ships.
